Pleasant View will be celebrating Reading Week from April 11th - April 14th. This week will include fun activities centered around our love of reading !
April 11th: Make Time for a Good Book Monday
Make time in your day for a guest reader! Teachers will have someone from our PVES faculty or staff come read to their class. This will be a great way to build our community while enjoying a good book! Teachers are free to choose who they would like to invite.

Ms. Arndt's class understands the power of song and dance in getting rid of the RICAS wiggles! This was great fun!

"RESPECT WEEK": THANK YOU, MRS. M-J, FOR CHALLENGING ALL OF US TO BE "CHAMPIONS OF CHANGE'"!
LEARNING TO WALK IN THE SHOES OF OTHERS:
1. SPECIAL OLYMPICS' "IMAGINATION PLAYGROUND"
2. DISABILITY SIMULATION LAB

Good Morning, Pandas! HAPPY RESPECT WEEK! HAPPY GREEN AND GOLD DAY! HAPPY FRIENDS’ DAY! Pleasant View has had a meaningful, enjoyable week of learning more about respect, kindness, and inclusion. We all thank you, Mrs. M-J, for leading us in this work! Kind, respectful, and inclusive are not something we want "to do", but rather who we all want to be!

Administrators, faculty, and staff spend after-hours watching "The Greatest Showman". The educators who reflect together, grow positively together!

SHS Unified cheered PV's staff and students on our first day of "Respect Week". Thank you so much!

The Pleasant View family is proud to be a Special Olympics Unified Champion National Banner School, as well as "home" to our wonderful Feinstein Junior Scholars! We are excited about our upcoming "Respect Week". When we know more, we do better. This week's activities and discussions will continue to "grow us" as kind, respectful, and welcoming adults and children!

Pleasant View's Road to Respect Week included an assembly on inclusion today.
During both of our assemblies, children and adults alike were mesmerized by the program's content, music, and message: You could have heard a "pin drop"!

Thank you to Pleasant View's Safety Patrol and their leaders Mrs. Luca and Mrs. Olean, for their presentation during last night's school committee meeting! All of our fifth grade Safety Patrol members volunteer daily to assist with morning arrival and routines.

Thank you, Down Syndrome Society of R.I., for helping us understand and appreciate the many, wonderful things that make us all both different and alike!
Happy World Down Syndrome Day!

Congratulations to Jayna Barrette, cast, music department, crews, SHS administration and staff on an outstanding "Gatsby, The Musical Performance"! During a time when there are so many less than positives things emphasized around us, this wonderful collaborative effort was a reminder for all of us that, “The glass is more than half-full.”! Thank you so very much!

Pleasant View Unified embraces its SHS Unified partnership!

On Monday, March 21st, Pleasant View will celebrate World Down Syndrome Day
by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. A speaker from the Down Syndrome Society of R.I. will be joining us for our grade level assemblies.

Everyone is Irish on St. Paddy's Day!

Sunny and his Pleasant View family are having a great day! It is always about kindness, respect, and inclusion!

Happy 100th Day of School for Pleasant View's grades 1-5! Tomorrow will be our kindergarten's 100 Day of School!

Pleasant View students, in kindergarten through grade two, met virtually this morning to read "Kind Katie" with author Lauren Cardoso. Ms. Cardoso was so impressed with all of the wonderful "chat questions" she received from students. This special event was another example of how much all of our children really embrace the importance of being kind to others! There is "a bit of Katie" in each one of them!

Due to the difficulty keeping up with today's storm, Smithfield will be having a Valentine's snow day, rather than a 2-hour delay. NO DISTANCE LEARNING. Stay safe and warm, everyone!
