Dear GMS Families,
As vaccinations are becoming more widespread and infections have decreased, we will be welcoming back all students on Monday, April 26th. There will no longer be a hybrid schedule and all students will attend classes five days a week. Students who are virtual option may remain virtual option for the remainder of the school year.
We will continue to follow all RIDOH and RIDE guidelines to keep our students and staff safe. Please remind your child about proper mask wearing, social distancing, and hand washing. And, remember, if you child is experiencing symptoms, you need to keep them home and seek testing.
In-person students are expected to attend school daily. Students may not choose to go virtual for a day, they will be marked absent.
Students are allowed entrance to the building beginning at 7:25am and report directly to their first period class. Students may grab a free breakfast on the way to their classroom.
Students driven to school will still be dropped off in the back of the school - please wait for a staff member to indicate it is time for students to vacate their vehicles. We anticipate a slight increase in traffic.
Students who have been taking the bus on a hybrid schedule will now ride it daily.
Students will continue eating lunch in their classrooms. School lunch for all students is free for the remainder of this school year.
As of 4/26, there will be only two modes of school: In-Person (5 Days) or Virtual Option. Throughout the year, we have been very accommodating of switches needing to be made; however, for the remainder of the school year, there will be no more switching between Virtual Option and In-Person.
Families wishing students to come back in-person or change to virtual must submit a request to Mr. Burns (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Friday, 4/16. No changes will be made after 4/16.
We look forward to returning to a closer version of a typical school year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
